The UK Dog Whisperer – The Beginning:
Bruce wasn’t aware that he was born to be the Dog Whisperer. After wanting a dog for many years, but not being able to have one due to work commitments, Bruce quit his office job and finally got his first dog 14 years ago – Misha, a Bullmastiff cross Rottweiler. Bruce rescued Misha from a destitute one bedroom flat in a tower block when she was just 8 weeks old. Bruce then started training Misha with calm and gentle, one word – one action techniques, without actually knowing the science behind these dog training methods.
After many months of research and reading well recognized dog training books and methods, Bruce started fine tuning his dog behaviour techniques.
The UK Dog Whisperer – Becoming a Therapist:
A year after rescuing Misha, a pregnant Staffordshire Bull Terrier was left on Bruce’s door-step,
and Bruce helped to deliver 11 pups, one of which was Duke. Bruce then continued to rescue dogs, travelled around assisting various rescue centres and completed an HND in Dog Psychology. During this time Bruce continued to train Duke and he became a registered therapy dog with Pets As Therapy (P.A.T.) http://www.petsastherapy.org . Bruce and Duke visited care homes to provide therapy to the elderly who had given up their beloved companions when placed into social care.
Becoming the UK Dog Whisperer:
Whilst Duke was working as a training dog, Bruce continued to rescue dogs in need – providing welfare and training to each individual need of the dog. Bruce started to become well recognised in the community with dog walkers wishing their dogs behaviour to be in par with Bruce’s. As you can see from the picture, Bruce’s training techniques produced astounding results – with each dog completely balanced. A particular example of this was one of Bruce’s rescue dogs – Kaiser, a Rottweiler.
